HPCA was invited to take part in a top level consultation involving representatives from the Black Minority Ethnic Communities Voluntary Organisations, Faith Groups, Social Enterprises and Public Sectors in West Yorkshire.
The consultation was part of the government's attempt to assess the impact of austerity measures on local communities and more so on the already disadvantaged Black and minority ethnic communities in our region.
Rashad Bokhari, HPCA's Chief Executive, after the consultation meeting, said, " It was an informative and constructive meeting. Those present spoke candidly about the damaging impact of austerity on Black and Minority Ethnic communities in our region. It was a positive step on part of DCLG to reach out to communities. This needs happen more on a regularly basis. We are grateful to KLTV for coordinating this consultation."
